Changes to Greenacres Supported Living Accommodation Proposals 

The Greenacres site was initially identified in 2020 as a location to provide supported living accommodation for adults with complex needs. 

Despite achieving planning consent in 2023 and resolving some site challenges, significant technical and cost issues associated with this location have led to the conclusion that the Greenacres development is not viable for the intended purpose.  

The Council, working with Shropshire Towns and Rural (STAR) Housing, is therefore now seeking an alternative site, with a new planning application expected in the next 12-18 months. Meanwhile, opportunities continue to be taken to provide housing for individuals with complex needs through existing housing development programmes.
