I have two careers – as a freelance journalist and selling men’s underwear online.

When I looked after my late mother everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. She was feisty and determined and believed everybody should be given every chance and support to have a good life. After she died I wanted to make things better - trying to do that from the outside wasn’t working.

The focus for adult social care/health care must be the individual in front of them.

Professionals and organisations must start talking to each other and work in unison with that single focus.
