My name is Rachel Woods and I work part time as the Making It Real Coordinator alongside Sophie Davies.

In the other half of the week, when I am not the Making It Real Coordinator for Shropshire Council, I run a small organisation called The Windfall Project, which works with adults with a learning disability running a garden and making jam and chutney.

When I’m not at work I love to garden, cook, swim, sew and be out and about in the glorious Shropshire countryside.

I live with my husband, two teenage children, and dog, Nessie.

I am on the board as it is part of my job, but I passionately believe that for the council to make the best decisions for the residents of Shropshire they need to speak to and listen to people who have a lived experience of services. The Making It Real Board is the perfect place for this to happen.

In order for everyone to get a chance to ‘live their best life’ it would be good to see a greater mix of people involved in the conversations that we have at Making It Real. I hope to be able to help with this.
