This course is recommended for staff working in Shropshire Council maintained schools, who need to prevent and/or intervene in crisis situations and whose Training Needs Analysis has established that they require disengagement and holding skills.

Training to introduce and increase understanding of safeguarding and protecting children.

Explore key principles and strategies to increase your confidence in navigating difficult conversations, find strategies to strengthen them and identify actions to take.

Training to introduce and increase understanding of safeguarding adults.

Provide an awareness of hoarding and considerations when supporting adults who have difficulties with hoarding. Look at key legislation that may be used and local procedures for management of hoarding.

This course is recommended for staff working in health and social care who need to prevent and/or intervene in crisis situations and whose Training Needs Analysis has established that they require disengagement skills only (no holding).

Training to increase knowledge to support assessment of mental capacity.

Increase your understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on children and young people within the household and support available for families.

Leadership and management training to explore effective delegation skills for managers and seniors

Training to improve skills in making and recording best interests decisions.

This course is recommended for staff who work in environments that require safe responses to escalating behaviours, but not restrictive or physical intervention techniques. Participants will learn how to respond to crisis situations with a focus on prevention, using verbal de-escalation skills and strategies where restraint is inappropriate.
