Garden waste collections

From 4 November 2024 you'll need to subscribe to our domestic garden waste collection service if you'd like us to continue collecting your garden bin.

The annual subscription fee is £56 and covers the period 4 November 2024 to 31 October 2025. A payment window will be open from September 2024 until 31 March 2025. The charge is £56 regardless of when you sign up.

To subscribe, click the button to visit the MiPermit website.

To help you through the subscription process, we've prepared a step-by-step help guide.

Once you've signed up and paid, we'll empty your garden waste on your scheduled collection day. However, if this is after 4 November 2024 the later you leave it to subscribe the higher the chance that your collection day will change.

If you don’t subscribe, we won’t empty your garden bin after 4 November 2024.

Food waste

As we can't charge for food waste collections these will need to be suspended from 4 November 2024 whilst we develop and introduce a new weekly service from April 2026.

Smaller bins

Some households have a smaller 140 litre garden bin, and this pre-dates Shropshire Council. If these households subscribe they can request a larger 240 litre bin free of charge. There's no reduction in the charge if you use your smaller bin.

If you do subscribe, you’ll be unable to put food waste in your garden waste bin from 4 November 2024. This can instead be placed in your general waste bin or home composted.

Sacks

Some households that don't have space for a garden bin presently have a fortnightly sack collection. These households can subscribe to the service and will receive a 12-month supply of sacks (coloured).
