Market Drayton is home to around 12,000 people. The highest population density is in the centre of the town.
Data shows around 40% of commutes at less than 5km, but only 20% of residents opting to walk or cycle.
The narrow streets in the historic heart of the town serve to slow traffic but create a challenge to accessibility as many pavements are narrow.
There are multiple promoted cycle routes within Market Drayton. In reality, many of these routes pose inhospitable environments to cyclists and present an opportunity for upgrading.

Some of the information we're presenting on our maps may not be entirely accessible for all audiences. We're therefore offering the following alternative ways of finding out more about our plans...
- An in-person roadshow at each of the seven towns (9 – 12 May)
- Two online webinars covering the proposals for each of the seven towns (6pm on 18 and 25 May)
- Workshops with schools to get the opinions of children and young people (w/c 19 June, details TBC)
