Housing
There are a range of options available for young people.
If a young person wishes to apply for their own tenancy in local authority housing, they'll need to complete a Homepoint application.
Supported living is a scheme provided by our adult social care service, which supports young people to have their own tenancy, in their own home, with the support that they require. In order to access supported living in Shropshire, the young person must be assessed under the Care Act 2014. If this assessment finds the young person to require overnight support and upwards of 50 hours care support per week, they may be offered the opportunity to consider supported living.
Occasionally, young people are offered residential care if other options don't meet their needs. This differs from supported living as the young person doesn't have their own tenancy.
