Emotional wellbeing and mental health

Emotional and Mental health problems can affect anyone at any time and may be overcome with support and/ or treatment. Our mental health is just as important as our physical health. It affects our daily lives – how we feel, as well as our ability do the things we need and want to, including work, study, getting on with people and looking after ourselves and others.

You can find out more on the emotional wellbeing and mental health pages of the local offer.

Mental capacity

An individual (aged 16 and over) lacks capacity if they're unable to make a particular decision. An assessment of capacity must be based on a person’s ability to make a specific decision at the time it needs to be made, not their ability to make decisions in general.
