Adult social care supported living
Young people who are eligible for adult social care support who require at least 50 hours support per week and require overnight support may wish to consider supported living in Shropshire. Each supported living house is different, depending on the people living who live there.
Supported living houses are often developed for a group of people who wish to live together, working with adult social care teams to design a supported living house to specifically meet their needs. There are also opportunities to join existing supported living homes where there's space available in that home.
With supported living, each person has their own tenancy and has lots of opportunities to make choices about how they like to live.

Moving into supported living
As each young person is different, every supported living home is different. Each home is designed to meet the needs of the individuals living there, so the environment and the support they receive is specific to that home. We have a wide range of supported living homes in Shropshire, including houses, flats and bungalows. They're in both town and rural locations, and the level of support is tailored to meet the needs of each young person.
In order to be eligible for supported living, a young person needs to require a minimum of 50 hours support per week plus overnight support (this could be from support workers who are either awake or asleep).
Sometimes there's a room available in an existing supported living home and young people can move in. In other situations, young people are supported to find others that they'd like to live with, and a new home is set up.
Whatever your situation, you'll be supported to explore your options, make choices that suit you and receive the support you need.
