Children's social care
The role of Children’s Social Care for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families is to provide non-stigmatising social care support when it is needed. This will focus on achieving the best possible social care outcomes for your child, providing practical support, and recognising any additional pressures facing the whole family.
Assessments, help and support may be offered by a range of social care practitioners, both from within and outside of the Children’s Social Care service.
Children’s Social Care also supports children and young people with SEND who are looked after (this could be at home with their parents under supervision, with foster carers or in a residential home) and those who need protection.
