Rachel Robinson, director of public health

Rachel has worked in public health for over 20 years.

She began her career in Newcastle working in health intelligence and research, before moving to Birmingham and then Walsall.

She then spent 10 years in Warwickshire as a consultant in public health, becoming Associate Director of Public Health across both the local authority and the Clinical Commissioning Group with a focus on the North of Warwickshire. Rachel moved to Shropshire as Director of Public Health in April 2019.

Rachel is passionate about ensuring there is a robust evidence base that underpins all decision making, focusingon understanding the variation in health and wellbeing outcomes to target and tackle inequalities. She believes this should be achieved through strong partnerships and working together with communities.

Outside work Rachel likes to sing karaoke, climb mountains and walk her dogs.
