Emily Hackworthy

I’m Emily, a young carer support practitioner. When I was 11 years old, I became a young carer for my mum, so I understand how it feels to look after someone at home. That experience is a big part of why I do what I do today. I feel lucky to work with amazing children and young people who care for others.

I love helping in my community, and volunteer with charities that mean a lot to me. I also enjoy learning new things, and recently finished my master’s degree.

When I’m not working or volunteering, I enjoy being outside, going for walks, and spending time with my family and friends.
