If you'd like to request a fee before you apply, please email us with the following information:
- The site address where the work will be carried out
- A copy of the existing and proposed plans
- An estimated cost of works (builder's quote)
- Your contact details
Once we've received this information, we'll review your proposal and provide a fee estimate based on the scope of the works and the application type.

If you require guidance before submission of your application, we offer a free no-obligation one-hour pre-application advice service on building regulations compliance. Please note that we're unable to offer design advice.

How are fees calculated?
Fees are calculated based on the application type and the nature of the works. This can be either through our set fee tables, or individually determined.
Are there any additional fees?
Building works must commence within three years of the deposit of the application, and a request for a completion inspection also needs to be made within three years of the date of your last inspection. Exceeding this time limit will result in an additional fee. Please see our statutory fees for further details.
