Recycling and reuse

Recycling

Waste collection and recycling is provided by Veolia together with household recycling centres across the county. Please see our recycling page for more information.

In addition, Plastic Free Communities are tackling avoidable single-use plastic, all the way back to the brands and businesses who create it.

Re-use

Warp It (Waste Action Re-use Portal) is intended for repurposing work items. This service helps to relocate equipment to where it's needed and is free for use by schools and academy trusts, charities, and not-for-profits.

You can repurpose within your own organization or donate items to charities and schools across the West Midlands

As an example, our 650 members have already saved:

  • £164k (in procurement and disposal costs)
  • 45 tonnes waste avoided
  • 125 tonnes CO2 greenhouse gas emissions saved
  • 171 trees equivalent or 40 cars off the road

What items can be reused?

Any work-item (including working from home); furniture, stationery, office equipment.

How do I register?
