How to apply
Applying is easy! Just follow these three steps...
Step 1
Decide which of the following concessions is the right one for you:
- National bus pass
- Bridgnorth Cliff Railway vouchers
- Senior railcard
Step 2
National bus pass
You can apply for a national bus pass online. Alternatively, you can apply in person by visiting Shropshire Local (Shrewsbury) or Shropshire Local (Ludlow). When applying in person we'll take a photo of you.
Senior railcards or Bridgnorth cliff railway
Please bring one of the following required documents to Shropshire Local (Shrewsbury) or Shropshire Local (Ludlow):
- Birth certificate
- Driving licence
- State pension letter
- Passport
Please also bring one of the following proofs of residence (place of residence must be clearly shown as Shropshire and be the most recent copy):
- Council tax bill
- Utility bill
- Bank/credit card statement
For senior railcard applicants, you'll be given a unique code to use online. This will reduce the cost of a one-year railcard to £9. Your railcard will be posted to you direct from National Rail.
Step 3
If you're applying for a bus pass or Bridgnorth Cliff Railway voucher, check your post. Approximately ten working days after your application, you should receive your new concession. Please contact the Concessionary Travel Team if this isn't the case.
