Oswestry Innovation Park

A new development to boost the local economy and community.

The Oswestry Innovation Park (OIP) is a new employment site that will enhance the town’s economic vitality, create jobs, and foster a thriving community. The OIP is strategically located at the gateway to Oswestry on the A5/A483, offering convenient access to the west and the Irish export market, the northwest, and the Welsh/western M4 corridor.

The OIP will provide local employment opportunities, reduce reliance on outward commuting, attract new investment, and support demand for grow-on space for existing businesses. The development of the OIP will deliver significant benefits for the area, including:

  • Ten commercial plots, featuring a mix of office and light industrial buildings
  • Over 1000 jobs, with the construction phase fostering local trainees through training, apprenticeships, and educational opportunities
  • A pedestrian and cyclist footbridge linking the OIP with the planned housing developments on the Oswestry Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE)
  • Improved road network and connectivity, including the Mile End junction improvements

The OIP covers an area of 18.7 hectares. Preparations for the proposal are progressing to plan. The contract for the infrastructure works, including all roads, connectivity, and incoming utilities, has commenced on site.
