Environmental health Private water supply fees
Central government expects local authorities to largely recoup the costs for monitoring, risk assessing and sampling private water supplies, and set down maximum charges. The actual fee for the analysis of samples will be charged where it's less than the maximum charge allowed under the regulations, in addition to the sampling visit fee.
We've decided not to exercise the discretionary power to sample water at single private dwellings routinely, but to sample and undertake risk assessments upon request.
