This will be delivered on MS Teams
Aims: To train professionals in mental health care in applying a structured approach to understanding problematic thoughts, beliefs and paranoia strategies for helping people manage their experience.
Learning Outcomes:
- Build skills around talking to a person about their experiences in a comprehensive way
- Gain knowledge of different frames of reference about problematic thoughts, beliefs and paranoia in relation to historical evidence and epidemiological data and be able to discuss these
- Demonstrate competence in the use of the Maastricht problematic thoughts, beliefs and paranoia interview and recording the experiences of the interviewee
- As the interviewer, develop an ability to extract information and be an objective listener, suppressing therapeutic ambitions or comment.
