Aim: Explore key principles and strategies to increase your confidence in navigating difficult conversations.

This session does not cover supporting people in a crisis, but aids in navigating difficult conversations with frustrated, worried or upset individuals. We recommend that you look to your organisational policies for advice around supporting those in crisis. We also offer Mental Health First Aid and Suicide First Aid Training

  • Outline the principles included in the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy counselling skills competency framework
  • Recognise and discuss strategies to strengthen communication
