Libraries LiveLife cancer awareness information drop-in

Through direct contact with people of all ages, the LiveLife cancer awareness service works to break down some of the barriers people may have in talking about cancer.

Their trained team of professionals will help:

  • People think more positively about cancer and separate the myths from the facts
  • Develop knowledge and awareness of early cancer signs and symptoms – especially those that are more easily preventable eg breast, prostrate, bowel, ovarian and skin cancers
  • People understand the importance of being aware of their body and visiting a doctor with any concerns
  • Encourage people to take up invitations to cancer screening programmes such as bowel, breast, and cervical cancer checks
  • People recognise how making small changes to their lifestyle can reduce their risk of developing cancer in future. This can include information on sun safety, support for stopping smoking, managing weight, healthy eating and increasing physical activity
