Oswestry and Gobowen

With a total population of around 20,000, Oswestry and Gobowen make up the second most populus urban
area in Shropshire after Shrewsbury. Despite this, Oswestry doesn't have its own railway station, with the nearest being Gobowen.

At the time of the 2011 census, 50% of commuter journeys in Oswestry were 5km or less, but only 20% said that they walk or cycle to work.

There is currently very little infrastructure provision for cyclists in Oswestry and Gobowen. The lack of a railway station in Oswestry makes an active travel link between the towns even more desirable.
