Report illegal parking
Report illegal parking
We can enforce all parking restrictions that are covered with the correct signs and lines and supported by a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) within our Authority Area (this does not include Telford and Wrekin). If the vehicle is causing an obstruction or parked in a dangerous manner where there are no lines or signs present, then this needs to be reported to the Police, not us. If the illegal parking matches the above criteria then please select the 'report an incident of illegal parking' button in order to complete your report. We will endeavour to include this information in our enforcement patrols. Illegal parking can cause delays, queues and safety issues for pedestrians and other road users. Your information is vital and welcomed to assist us in improving the parking behaviour around Shropshire.
What information do I need to provide?
It's important that you provide as much information as possible, for example where the vehicle is parked, vehicle registration number, time of day the parking occurs and what type of illegal parking is taking place. If you prefer, you can call our customer service centre on 0345 678 9019.
Do I have to give my name and contact details?
It would help us in our enquiries if you could provide your name and contact details, in case we need to obtain some further information from you; however you can remain anonymous if you wish.
When will I hear back from you?
Due to the volume of illegal parking reports that we receive, we won't respond to, or provide feedback on, your individual report. In order to ensure that our parking controls are observed and enforced in a fair, accurate and consistent matter, we can't target individual vehicles reported to us.
We will, however, use the information you provide to help direct our enforcement patrols and therefore help us target our resources in the most appropriate way.
How do I report an abandoned vehicle?
If you suspect a vehicle has been abandoned in Shropshire, you can report this using our online form. We're currently developing a new version of this form, but in the meantime please provide as much information as possible to help us locate and identify the vehicle, as well as checking whether it's taxed and has a valid MOT.
