Market Drayton Neighbourhood Plan

Designation

An application by Market Drayton Town Council to designate a neighbourhood plan area went out for public consultation from 10 July to 28 August 2015. The application was approved by Shropshire Council's Cabinet on 1 December 2015.

Submission

Shropshire Council received a submission of the draft Market Drayton Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents from Market Drayton Town Council in May 2018 and consulted on these documents in accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, in June 2018.

Examination

John Parmiter FRICS FRSA MRTPI was appointed as the independent examiner for the plan. He assessed the plan and concluded that it should not proceed to referendum. Following the conclusions of the examiner, this plan was not taken forward to a referendum. The proposed Neighbourhood Plan could not therefore be adopted by Shropshire Council.
