Description
The Whitchurch Future Transport and Movement Plan will take into account a range of traffic, transport, and place-related matters within and around the town of Whitchurch. It will also consider growth plans and strategies, including the Whitchurch and Surrounding Area Place Plan and Shropshire's Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan, as well as forthcoming significant developments such as the construction of 500 homes on Tilstock Road.
The plan will concentrate on various initiatives which are still yet to be finalised with key stakeholders. However, initiatives will likely encompass the consolidation of current traffic movements and the improvement of infrastructure to make walking and cycling safer and more appealing modes of transport within the town. Furthermore, the plan will prioritise projects which emphasise Whitchurch’s unique character. For example, connecting Whitchurch’s natural assets, such as The Shropshire Union Canal and Jubilee Park, through wayfinding enhancements and improved walking links.
