Shrewsbury North West Relief Road cancelled

A decision was made to cancel the Shrewsbury North West Relief Road (NWRR) at a meeting of full council in February 2026 on the grounds of affordability. All work on the project, and any further drawdown of funding, was paused immediately after discussions with the Department for Transport (DfT) in June 2025 confirmed that no additional government funding would be provided.
