Ordinarily available inclusive provision (OAIP)
OAIP refers to the support, strategies, and practices that all mainstream educational settings, such as schools, early years providers, and post-16 institutions, are expected to provide for all children and young people, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), from within their own resources.
OAIP is underpinned by 'Quality First' teaching expectations that will result in the effective inclusion of all pupils in high-quality everyday personalised teaching.
During phase 3, Shropshire are seeking to develop revised versions of their OAIP documents (formerly known as SOAP).
Underpinning OAIP are staff within schools and settings taking responsibility for identifying and addressing the individual needs of children and young people in a way that will promote wellbeing, independence and enabling them to fulfil their potential.
Further information can be found in the OAIP newsletter.
