Specialist Outreach
The Specialist Outreach is running as a SEND and AP Change Programme funded pilot during the 2025/26 academic year. It aims to build capacity in schools to meet the needs of children with SEND within their mainstream setting and is open to pupils from Reception to Y11. The purpose of Specialist Outreach is to develop the practice of staff in schools rather than to carry out assessments or produce reports.
Outreach Specialists are working with individuals or small groups over an extended period of time (at least two terms) to allow impact and time for schools to develop their practice with the support of Outreach Specialists. The Outreach Specialists are experienced staff from Severndale Academy, Keystone Academy, Neurodiversity Practitioners (NDPs), MATi (Marches Academy Trust) and some primary SEND Hubs.
Schools and settings will seek consent and views from parent-carers as part of the request for Specialist Outreach.
