Shropshire's policies, plans and strategies

Joint Strategic Needs Analysis (JSNA)

Shropshire Council and health partners look at local health and care needs. They use evidence to plan future services and report to the Health and Wellbeing Board.

Transforming Care Partnership

Local councils and health groups are working together to improve support for people with learning disabilities and/or autism. Their goals are to provide good local services, help people leave hospital and live at home, and make sure everyone feels safe in their community.

Accessibility Strategy for Schools

Shropshire Council has a legal duty to plan and improve access to education for disabled pupils. The strategy sets out how schools will make education more accessible. This is being reviewed.

Autism Strategy

This strategy aims to make Shropshire a county where autistic people of all ages are welcomed, supported and valued – regardless of diagnosis status. As of April 2026, this is in the process of being finalised and will be shared when approved.
