Ludlow is one of the finest historic towns in England with a wealth of beautiful period buildings, mainly Georgian or half timbered. There's plenty to see, with over 500 listed buildings, some dating as far back as medieval times.
- Ludlow Castle - Centrepiece to the town is the dramatic 11th Century Ludlow Castle. During the summer the outdoor Shakespeare theatre performances are not to be missed, and there are many other events throughout the year.
- St. Laurence's Church - Nearby, the cathedral-like church of St. Laurence is said to be one of the largest in England. Discover links to a famous poet and a rare Jesse window. Also not to be missed is a climb of the tower for a stunning uninterrupted view of the town and the south Shropshire landscapes beyond.
- Interesting streets - Visitors should take some time to explore the numerous lanes and back streets packed with history and art, book and craft shops.
- Dining - Ludlow is home to some of the finest dining in the country; why not sample some of the excellent food on offer, from fine dining to one of the many excellent local food outlets.
- Markets - Come to one of the craft, farmers' or traditional markets just outside the door of the VIC.
- Outdoor activities - Other ideas and things to do in and around Ludlow include cycling, horse riding, walking and hiking.
