Normally, you pay your council tax in ten instalments. However, if you want to pay twelve instalments instead, this will reduce the amount you pay every month. We can help you to do that.

If you pay by direct debit, make sure you have your council tax number ready, then follow our 'paying by direct debit' instructions
If you pay by cash, make sure you have your council tax number ready, and complete the online council tax contact form

Your request will need to be received before 1 April, with confirmation from you that it refers to the twelve-month period from April 2026 to March 2027.
