Children's Exploitation Advanced
Aims to: Enhance knowledge and practice for those working with children at risk of exploitation.
Learning objectives:

Today is not designed as an entry-level exploitation training (see information in audience section below).

Explore practical methods of offering support and engaging in meaningful interventions with young people.

Explore how to complete high-quality CE risk assessments.

Understand latest themes & trends with child exploitation (especially evolving use of technology).

Refresh knowledge of statutory safeguarding duties and the law.

Understanding triage outcomes and how thresholds are met.

Identify when, why and where to signpost or where to get support.
Facilitators: Delivered by two experienced practitioners from the TREES (Together Reducing and Ending Exploitation in Shropshire). The trainers have direct experience working with and supporting young people who are being exploited. They are part of the Local Authority (LA) safeguarding procedures (Exploitation Triage, Joint-Decision Making Panel, locality, disruption, mapping meetings) and panel members of the weekly consultations offered by the LA.
Audience: Open to anyone working with or supporting children and young people who may be at risk of exploitation. Learners must have attended the Child Exploitation Awareness training prior to booking to attend this advanced module, or have a good working knowledge of exploitation.
This training contributes to underpinning knowledge for Level 3 safeguarding children and young people training in the health care Intercollegiate document.
Group 3 prefunded places are not available for the Child Exploitation Advanced training.
