Libraries Spark Young Writers - Creative writing groups for children

Fun, playful sessions for children who love writing in school years 3-8 (aged 7 to 13). All sessions are run by professional writers.

The cost for the year is £100 (£10 a session) and you can pay by via a one-off bulk card payment, or monthly direct debit. Alternatively, you can choose to book a one-off taster session so that your young writer can try before they commit to the programme. 

Please note, young people are encouraged to join one group for the year, as getting to know their fellow group members is an important part of developing as a writer.

Free places are available to those who receive free school meals or pupil premium funding at school.

The young people will need to bring:

  • A notebook or some paper
  • A pen or pencil to write with
  • A snack and a drink, if they want one
