Licences Notification of interest

Any person or business with a property interest in a licensed premises (e.g. a freeholder) can give us notice of their interest in the property. This is not a legal requirement, and it is up to the person with an interest in the property if they wish to do so. If notice of interest is given, we will notify the person who gave the notice of any changes relating to the licence, for example if the licence is transferred or surrendered. Having this notice in place may assist with ensuring continuity of the licence.

Notices have effect for 12 months from the date they are given and a new one can be given every year.

Am I eligible to give a notification of interest?

Yes, if you have a property interest in the premises you are giving a notice for.
