How to get an exemptions permit

You're required to apply for an exemption permit via MiPermit. You'll be required to create an account and upload your qualifying supporting evidence. Help on how to use MiPermit is available. 

There will be no charge for adding your vehicle to an exemption list, but it will remain your responsibility to keep your details up to date. You'll need to inform us if any changes are made to your current situation. Please see our FAQs for further details.  

Our exemption permits are virtual, which means that you don't get a paper permit to display on your vehicle.
