Next Local Plan

Local Plans need to be reviewed at least every five years. These reviews allow for the consideration of updated information on the needs of our communities and changes to policy at the national level.

On 8 May 2026, Shropshire Council issued an intention to commence preparation of the next Shropshire Local Plan. On 30 September 2026, Shropshire Council formally commenced the process of preparing the new Shropshire Local Plan by passing through ‘Gateway 1’.
