New to Outreach
What's the Winter Outreach Wellbeing (WOW) project?
- Using mobile hub(s) to physically reach our most rural residents and communities across Shropshire
- Providing direct access to information, signposting, resources and potentially services for residents
- Listening to our residents’ needs and challenges and feeding back that important insight back to key system partners
- Working in partnership to connect organisations and offer the best possible health and wellbeing support and expertise
Why are we doing WOW?
- Winter can be a challenging time for our residents due to financial pressures, increased health risks from cold weather, and mental health challenges such as loneliness caused by darker days and isolation
- Our more rural communities face greater barriers to accessing information and services
- Extends community health and wellbeing support to currently underserved rural areas
- Identified as a need through the Place-Based Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and key Shropshire system partners
- Addresses rural health inequalities and disparities
- Complements ongoing partner initiatives and supports Shropshire's rural and remote communities
Our ambition for WOW
- To better reach and support our most rural residents and communities
- To build connections, relationships and trust
- To increase, improve and further enable access to relevant and accurate information, resources, and signposting to the right support
- To promote social contact and community integration
- To reduce rural health inequalities and disparities
