Muslim Community Project
Through the Workplace Health Checks initiative, the team was able to offer health checks to Muslim employees to promote early detection and proactive health management, as well as providing health checks for women within the community to address specific health needs and encourage preventative care.
Over time, the team has worked to build trust and strong relationships within these communities, recognising that establishing genuine connections takes time and consistent effort. They actively encouraged community members to share their thoughts and feelings about their health and wellbeing through a place-based JSNA, ensuring that services remained responsive to their needs.
Additionally, the team partnered with the Muslim community, PCN (primary care network), and community resources to deliver menopause education and yoga sessions, supporting women’s physical and mental health. Looking ahead, there are plans to establish weight management and physical activity support.
