Wellbeing champions

Wellbeing champions are employees who have an interest in health and wellbeing and wish to support colleagues by signposting them to and promoting the wellbeing resources and support available to staff.

It may be that you want some guidance around such wellbeing topics as sleep hygiene, nutrition, keeping fit, smoking cessation or you simply want some words of encouragement and support as you embark on a fitness regime. Whilst the wellbeing champions are not experts, they can listen to you, offer an encouraging ear, and signpost you to useful information and resources – all confidentially and non-judgmentally. Additionally, it may be that you want to feel more informed about the wellbeing support available to staff. If so, a wellbeing champion can signpost you to the tools and resources on offer.

It is important to recognise that the wellbeing champions are different to the mental health first aiders (MHFAs), so if you want to talk to someone about your mental health, please speak with a MHFA, who is trained and equipped to listen to you.
