Coronation Avenue (B4361)

Repair, and improvement works to Corve Culvert

Duration

Works are programmed to undertake repair, and improvement works to Corve Culvert, which sits below Coronation Avenue (B4361).

These works are to remedy the damage noted during the routine structural inspection programme and to improve the longevity of the structure.

The works are due to take place under a full road closure, for a period of five weeks, from 28/07/2025 to 29/08/2025, with a diversion route in place.

The programmed works are as follows.

The carriageway & footway over the structure will be excavated to enable the construction of a concrete over slab, to reinforce the existing structure.

A curing time of seven days is required to the concrete over slab, for the waterproofing layer to adhere to the surface of the concrete. During this period, works will pause above the structure.

Once the waterproofing layer has cured, the carriageway and footway will be reconstructed, and road markings reinstated.

Though works will pause above the carriageway whilst the concrete slab is curing, repairs work to the soffit of the culvert are programmed, during which, the areas of spalled and delaminated concrete will be removed and reinstated with a concrete repair mortar.

We thank you for your patience and consideration.

  • Duration: five weeks
