I need help now - it's urgent

If you feel like you might seriously harm yourself or attempt suicide, you need urgent medical help.

If you:

  • Have attempted to take your own life
  • Have seriously injured yourself
  • Feel unable to keep yourself safe
  • Believe you may harm another person

...you need urgent help. Please:

  • Call 999
  • Go directly to your nearest accident & emergency (A&E) department if possible

If you can’t do this by yourself, ask someone to help you.

Mental health crises should always be taken seriously. Reaching out for help is the right thing to do, and you won't be wasting anyone’s time.

If you're unsure whether the situation requires a 999 call, you can call NHS 111 for advice or visit NHS 111 online. They'll advise you on what to do and where to go.
