Aims to increase knowledge of the autism spectrum and explore the impact for individuals. This session gives the exciting opportunity to hear from an expert by experience around Autism, their life and the person-centred tools they use.
Provide an awareness of hoarding and considerations when supporting adults who have difficulties with hoarding. Look at key legislation that may be used and local procedures for management of hoarding.
Gain an understanding of motivational interviewing and how to use it in practice to provide “a collaborative, person-centred form of guiding to elicit and strengthen motivation to change” (Miller & Rollnick, 2009)
This course is recommended for staff working in health and social care who need to prevent and/or intervene in
crisis situations and whose Training Needs Analysis has established that they require advanced level disengagement and holding skills.
